Canonical and NetApp collaborate to supply open cloud solutions based on Ubuntu OpenStack and NetApp storage
- Open Cloud Solution will help organisations build scalable and easily managed private and hybrid clouds
- NetApp data management and storage flash solutions integrated with Ubuntu OpenStack to supply open cloud solutions for the enterprise
- Netapp also joins Canonical’s Cloud Partner Program
Together this new collaboration will help enterprises build automated, scalable and reliable private and hybrid clouds based on open technologies (Ubuntu, Ubuntu OpenStack and Juju), making it easy for customers to integrate NetApp storage and data management solutions with Canonical’s Ubuntu OpenStack.
More than ever, enterprises realise that OpenStack hybrid and private cloud deployed with market leading storage solutions give them assurance that OpenStack solutions will be easy to manage, upgrade and operate.
“Many organizations are challenged to build IT models based on OpenStack and move them into production. Our work with Canonical will make it easier for customers to deploy Ubuntu OpenStack with NetApp’s storage and data management solutions,” said Anthony Lye, senior vice president, Cloud Business Unit, NetApp. “We are excited to be a part of Canonical’s OpenStack Technical Partner Program and are committed to the continued development of integrated cloud solutions to simplify IT delivery and rapidly advance new ideas from concept to production.”
NetApp and Canonical will work together to contribute to the evolution and success of OpenStack by further integrating our services and next-generation storage technologies, like ONTAP and SolidFire, into future releases of Ubuntu OpenStack to make it easier for customers to deploy cloud based IT models.
“NetApp and Canonical have invested to make sure that Open Cloud Solutions based on Ubuntu OpenStack and NetApp storage technologies just work,“ said John Zannos, Vice President, Cloud Platform and Alliances, Canonical. “Using Juju, Canonical’s service modelling tool, customers can simply deploy OpenStack and NetApp storage and data management solutions. Together we are making it easier for enterprise to adopt OpenStack by taking the guesswork out of deploying and managing OpenStack.”
